Does the Canadian Air Force have any aircraft?

Don't feel bad though. The idiots in Sumatra had to shut down the Aceh
airport because a landing aircraft struck a water buffalo that had wandered
onto the runway.

If I remember correctly, the RCAF had some older helicopters
in its air rescue division, that they were having a great deal
of trouble with. Maybe that equipment just broke down terminally.
Or at least there weren't any, that could be spared for the relief
efforts. The other Candaian rescue planes are probably equipped
with snow ski landing gear and so are unsuitable for use
in the tropics :-P

There must be some shred of logic or reason in that statement.

RCAF was OK. It doesn't exist any more. It is now all under National
Defence.

By the way, aid from Canada to Tsunami victims is sent by Airbuses.

Militarily, Canada is less than a third world nation. Like Europeans, Canada
can have no foreign policy because it has no power with which to back up
foreign policy. It's only hope is that US foreign policy co-incides with
theirs and the USA does all the work. In the case of Iraq, US foreign policy
did not match Canada's. Tough shit for them. Like the Europeans, all Canada
can do is talk. It has no power.

BTW, it should come as no surprise that the quick response team can not
respond quickly. It follows the European model. The military assets in the
relief area are all US and Russian...no European or Canadian assets at all
except for private NGO's. Only this year, the EU decided to have quick
response military teams but only about 4 EU countries will supply troops and
material.

Yes, Canada is pittyful in this case. Even the canadian citizens didn't
receive services close to compare with US, England and France in their

why you might ask?
simple: our own aircraft suck too much.
Does the Canadian Air Force have any aircraft?
If I remember correctly, the RCAF had some older helicopters
in its air rescue division, that they were having a great deal
of trouble with. Maybe that equipment just broke down terminally.
Or at least there weren't any, that could be spared for the relief
efforts. The other Candaian rescue planes are probably equipped
with snow ski landing gear and so are unsuitable for use
in the tropics :-P
oh that's cute rusty. reeeeeeeeal cute.

They are probably Russian MI-8's, hand-me-downs from the Indian Air Force
after they got tired of them crashing all the time.

So why do Russian airlines only want to buy western aircraft? Even with the
40% tariff that Vladolph Putler puts on them, many Russian airlines still
buy western made planes.

The Russian planes that do exist can only fly routes in third world
countries (like Russia). Their crappy planes can not meet western standards
and can not fly to Europe or the US.

Hey Nyemetski Numbnutzski,

If you want to move to the USA, I'll put in a good word for you with the
immigration office and the homeland security guys.

I would abandon Germany now while you still have a chance. The Bismarck and

It's a complex of inferiority. They think that their planes are as crappy as

Russia rules. They can't make a car, but they can fly better than anyone
else. :)
So why do Russian airlines only want to buy western aircraft? Even with

40% tariff that Vladolph Putler puts on them, many Russian airlines still
buy western made planes.
The Russian planes that do exist can only fly routes in third world
countries (like Russia). Their crappy planes can not meet western

and can not fly to Europe or the US.
It's a complex of inferiority. They think that their planes are as crappy as
their cars. If only they had some pride, they would force Organisation de

Russian airlines would buy Russian aircraft but the Russian aircraft
industry simply can't supply the planes. I've never quite understood why
Russia is incapable of building certifyable aircraft but it is what it is.

Russia can't supply the aircraft but they don't want Russian airlines to buy

U R clueless as usual. Western money and obstruction plus Russian
naivety is what it is. It took long time and big money for Airbus to
kick initial US monopoly. And of course Charlie's French courage to
stand up and save domestic (now Euro) aviation technology & industry
from yankee takeover and extermination like in Germany and Japan (later

Naivity is not in itself bad, but it is temporary allways.

By the way, Russian plane makers I heard are now making aircraft that
complies with EU requirements.

LOL. CIA tried to kill Hugo, but failed. So Hugo purchased 20 Russian
carrier killers MiG 29 SMT + SS-N-26. My source sez:

- [...] the CIA had already given advance warning of this intent by
- planning to shoot down Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's aircraft in
- late September, when he was en route to address the United Nations in
- New York. Fortunately for Chavez and his country, Venezuelan
- Intelligence received advance warning and blocked the President's

- Within days Russia 'agreed' to provide Venezuela with fifty Mig 29

- What absolutely no one outside Russia and Venezuela knew
- [...], is that 20 of the fifty Mig 29 SMTs are fully equipped to carry
- and fire the devastating SS-N-25 [and now SS-N-26] "Onyx", a
- devastating and completely unstoppable Mach 2.9 ramjet anti-ship
- cruise missile which skims the waves at twenty feet, before delivering
- a knock out blow to its maritime target more than 200 kilometers away.
- So great is the kinetic energy at the point of impact on
- the target, that Onyx can sink an American aircraft carrier or
- supertanker using only a conventional penetrating warhead. Those
- scientists who might doubt this should calculate the impact energy of
- 5,500 pounds of missile striking a carrier or tanker at a terminal
- velocity of 2,460 feet per second. It is understood that Russia is
- providing Venezuela with a stockpile of forty anti-ship Onyx missiles.

Yes the big Antonovs, eg. the 225N Mrija model and cousins, are

I think that they were built in the Antonov design beureaus factories
at Kharkiv in Ukraine. That complex needs more bussiness. So by all
means order some of their planes.
The Antonov design studio is headquartered in Kyiv (Kiev).
The new AN-70 which is their latest heavy lift airplane, now undergoing

By the way. Joint efforts/enterprises such as the Antonov aircraft

(Or however that saying goes?)

Everyone of you has been battering the qustion of Ukraine
and NATO around. Well there's a chance to get the AN-70
aircraft chosen as the NATO heavy lift vehicle. So if
Ukraine has designs to get into NATO, that certainly
can't hurt. Also Antov is hinting about working on a
design project with the Italians. It's all makes good
business sense, and Yuschenko has a great interest in
promoting Ukrainian foreign business ties.

Germans still want to ride into battle on horseback too but US sez tanks are

M1A2 Abrams is an old fella already. The Iraqis discovered the old man still

LOL. Brookski's playing wargames in his shitbox? The truth is that all
wargames in the 1990s showed that MiG-29's hardware is better than any
western fighter's hardware and that the guy can be used everywhere and

That's right! Avionics sux on Mig-29. The hardware was above anything else
in use.

However, overall goes to Europe with both Eurofighters and Rafales. Only
F-15 rates amoung them.

"So who rules the skies?
Independent computer modelling done for the RAF rates the Eurofighter as the
best multi-role fighter-bomber by a clear margin, followed by the F-15E and
the Rafale. However the more expensive F-18E was rated a better bomber if an
inferior fighter. McDonnell Douglas claim their F-18E and Eurofighter are
equal. Eurofighter costs less than most of its competitors but more than the
F-16 or Mig 29, but it has better running costs and more development
potential."

modern upgraded Suklhoys of Indian air force easily beat F-15 with or
without new radar. Crap is crap.
McDonnell Douglas claim their F-18E and Eurofighter are
equal. Eurofighter costs less than most of its competitors but more than the
F-16 or Mig 29, but it has better running costs and more development
potential."

And for new models, Sukhoi 37 rulez.
Nope. Al that crap is crap. F-22 will clear the field. All the crappy
Mig-29s, Rafales, Euroblighters, and Gripensgetanasswhoopin are like flying
lorries on radar. Of course, the guy flyin' the X-45 and X-47 will be
sittin' back in the good ol' USA munchin' on a Krispy Kreme while kicking
all that junk out of the sky.

Production of F/A-22 could stop soon
Besides the guy is still "currently underway" like Reagan's Star Wars
program ... here's Pratt & Whitney politically correct newspeak:

Flight tests, which are currently underway with production engines,
are demonstrating the F119's exceptional performance and reliability.
F/A-22 full operational capability is expected in 2005.

Same for F-15...still kicks Migs ass as evidenced by recent wargames.
Migs have no chance against F-15's with new radar. They are dead before
they even know the sheriff has arrived to clean up the town.
LOL. Brookski's playing wargames in his shitbox?
i always suspected that he had one of those.

No way, OM is not bald. But something went wrong with Brookski brothers'
splitting hairs genetics in their mother's womb so that all hairs were
given to his brother Jesus Manuel whereas Markus Jose, aka Mark
Brookski, was left without a single one. That's why his poor mom Maria
Fajardo-Brookski sold little Markus for 100 Mexican pesos to the Gringo
University of San Jose for sci investigations. After serving for 50
years as an amigo guinea pig in the university lab he was granted US
Green Card and a honorable gringo name True American Hero.

Everyone of you has been battering the qustion of Ukraine
and NATO around. Well there's a chance to get the AN-70
aircraft chosen as the NATO heavy lift vehicle.
Not a slightest. The yanks will do everything to kill any foreign
challenge. They killed NATO project Leopard 2, although field tests
showed its superiority over US crappy M1 Abrams *and* Germany always was
in NATO. Not to mention German 1990s failed attempts to upgrade MiG-29's
software for domestic air force, although flying tests showed MiG's
hardware superiority over crappy US F-14, F-15 and F-16.
Pessimist :-(
Well the AN-70 may still succeed commercialy :-)

why you might ask?
simple: our own aircraft suck too much.
Nah, the real reason is that Russian cargo planes are simply the best.
Nothing's wrong with it - there are few things that Canada is best at, too :-)
